French Art Deco Furniture

An Important Desk

An important French art deco desk by Charles Dudouyt ( - 1947) in Scandinavian oak with bronze fittings, from the late 1930's. One side has a locking door and drawer, the other has three shelves. A similar desk is shown in the 1948 issue of “Le Décor d'Aujourd'hui" in a retrospective of Dudouyt's work. Dudouyt exhibited at the 1936 and 1937 Salons of Societe des Artistes Décorateurs. This desk is branded on the underside with Dudouyt's cipher and measures 63 ¾ long x 25 ½ deep and is 31" high.
